Yesterday I wrote about the nothing fight, so I thought it would be fitting to write about things that matter – and things that don’t. I found myself upset this morning about how others were driving, self-centered and way too aggressive. I know that by driving defensively, for the most part, it really doesn’t affect me. Yet I let it bother me until I did my morning attitude check, “what really matters?”
So on this Friday let’s go down that checklist.
Things that matter:
Hugs
Kisses
Someone to love
Someone who loves you
Smiles
Pets
“Daddy (or Mommy) I love you!”
Baby I love you!
Unconditional Love
Faith
Hope
Love
True Friends
Peace of mind
A clean dry place to sleep tonight
Things that don’t:
Hate
Mean people
Meaningless deadlines
Grudges
Bad drivers
Spiteful coworkers
Rude customers
Fake friends.
Things you can’t change
So let’s concentrate on the things that matter today, have a cold beverage, and hug someone – you (and they) may need it.
I have noticed that the aggressive driver rarely gains more than 2 – 3 minutes. Poor trade off. Make the day count.
