I resolved to read 52 books this year – one a week. The year is almost finished and I’ve read 45. Here are the top 10 books I’ve read so far divided into 2 categories, fiction and non-fiction:
Fiction
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
Non-Fiction
Abundance by Peter Diamandis
The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains by Nicholas Carr
Gut Feelings: The Intelligence of the Unconscious by Gerd Gigerenzer
The Haunted Wood: Soviet Espionage in America – The Stalin Era – Allen Weinstein
The Rational Optimist: How Prosperity Evolves by Matt Ridley
I’ve read more good non-fiction this year than fiction. I highly recommend any and all books on this list but if you only read one – read Abundance by Peter Diamandis. He explains in detail all the good things happening in the world despite the doom and gloom in the media. If you only read one fiction book – read, We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor. Mainly because its a fun read and it’s a very interesting premise.
